Odell Brewing Co. Just won the silver medal at the World Beer Cup in the category of Strong Ale/Lager for their Double Pilsner. This Double Pilsner is part of their Single Batch Series, using their 5 barrel brewing system. Odell makes a fine brew, and the care they put into brewing their beer shows.

Issaquah Brewery’s Frosty Frog was designated Grand Champion at the 2008 United States Beer Tasting Championships in the Spice/Smoke beer category. Frosty Frog was also awarded the title of Pacific Northwest Champion in the Spice/Smoke beer category.
This is Issaquah Brewery’s third award from the U.S. Beer Tasting Championships. Previous Pacific Northwest Champions were Issaquah Brewery’s Bullfrog Ale in 2007 and its Farm Frog Saison in 2006. The 14th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship was held in December in Princeton, New Jersey. Over 400 beers from 141 breweries participated.

Local brewers pull in 35 medals at World Beer Cup
Sacramento, CA – California craft brewers pulled in a collective thirty five medals at the recent World Beer Cup, more than any other state and more than any other country outside the US.
The seventh bi-annual international competition, considered the “Olympics” of beer awards, was held in San Diego on April 19th. Six hundred and forty four breweries from 58 countries vied for the awards.

Still Living the Dream - Here comes LTD 02 - Again!
Our LTD 02 twisted so many peoples’ caps we’re bringing it back again this spring. It’s the same recipe as the first time, and once again it’s available only for a LTD time. For the last month or so our brewmasters have been busy brewing up a new batch of LTD 02 which is ready to bottle, keg and ship.
LTD recipe 02 is a seriously tasty, import-style lager that is nicely balanced. It’s a light-bodied, golden colored lager that has soft malt undertones and finishes crisp and clean - perfect for the warmer seasons.

Brown’s Brewing Company wins two recent Brewery awards both with both regional and international recognition.
The Matthew Vassar Cup was awarded to Brown’s Brewing Company in April recognizing Brown’s Brewing as “The Best Craft Beer Brewery in the Hudson Valley.” TAP NY is New York’s State premier brewers festival and competition held annually at Hunter Mountain in the Catskills.

Rogue Spirits Spruce Gin was awarded a Double Gold medal by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Rogue Spirits Dark Rum and Pink Gin both won Silver medals, and Wasabe Ginger Vodka won a Bronze medal.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the first comprehensive, international spirits judging ever held in the United States on an annual basis. Founded in 2000 by Anthony Dias Blue, the Wine and Spirits editor of Bon Appetit Magazine and Carol Seibert, the Managing Director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Truly Local, Truly No Ka Oi
Lahaina, Kahana, Maui - Results were recently announced for 2008 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).
The Royal Agricultural Society and the University of Ballarat established the Australian International Beer Awards in 1993 and today still jointly conduct the competition. This is Australia’s most prestigious beer event, held annually in Melbourne.
Internationally the AIBA is recognized as a barometer of diversity in beer brewing across the world and is the largest showcase for premium beer and brewing excellence in the Asia Pacific Region. The AIBA has also been instrumental in helping to promote the Australian brewing and brewing-related industries internationally.
