Thoughts, Not a Review, From a Guy Who Attended and Liberally Partook
submitted by: Friend of Thefullpint… Brooks

Beer. You’ve heard the sayings - It’s not just for breakfast anymore…It’s proof God loves us… Well, yesterday’s Music City Brewer’s Festival in downtown Nashville confirmed their validity to me and several thousand other passionate suds partakers. It was great.

We got there with friends from out of town around 3:00 PM. (The fest went from 2 to 8 P.M.) After proving our ages and getting a wristband and a cup, we were greeted by the friendly folks of Schlafly’s from St. Louis. A good way to start out with was their fine Pale Ale only recently available to us Nashville beer drinkers. My favorite is their APA. Anyway, now I don’t have to worry about grabbing a bunch to bring back home on our trips to St. Louis.

Weed, Ca- The federal government has said no to Weed.
Or at least to the bottle caps of beer brewed at a popular local brewery in this small Siskiyou County town, which has a name that no doubt would have kept 1970s pot-smoking duo Cheech and Chong giggling.

New Orleans, Double IPA, Dale’s Pale Ale in California

Posted by: Dan · June 1st, 2008 · 5 Comments

I was put up in a hotel by my wifes work this weekend, in New Orleans, LA. I had a bit more than 24 hours to have fun in New Orleans, and I feel it was enough time to do it, and not go overboard. One of the things I wanted to see was Abita Brewing in Abita Springs,LA. Once I found out how much a taxi would cost for a 40 mile trip and back, I skipped it.

Drinking fresh Abita was not an issue in the French Quarter. Nearly every beer stand within a mile radius had at least Abita Amber on tap. Abita Amber is the perfect beer to serve to a beer lover down there. You are overwhelmed with all of this glitz and craziness, that you wind up adding mixed drinks to the evening. Abita Amber and Turbo Dog are highly flavorful, but it won’t put you down for the count.
