How many of these actually are “craft beer” and carry the craft beer logo? Not that many…

It looks to me that all of the breweries nominated are craft breweries. Are you referring to the “independent” logo? Not all craft breweries have adopted that, and I don’t believe it has any bearing on whether or not a brewery is “craft”.

Wolverine State Brewing Co. In Ann Arbor is an all lager brewery. If I had to pick one I’d say their American Lager but the Oktoberfest, Maibock and Imperial Dark are out of this world!

I’m a big lagerhead, especially in the grossly hot Summer months here in Los Angeles. I’ve seen a lot of really awesome lagers come out in the past few years that are way more educated designs with great final products. Here’s my list of best craft lagers split into categories. I’d be curious to see a new round of this poll with just pilsners.

Dortmunder Export: Barley Forge Grandpa Tractor (and my vote for best lager)
    Helles: Sixpoint Alpenflo
Pilsner: Wiens Deadpan Pilsner or Figueroa Mountain Paradise Road
    Hoppy Lager: Stillwater Yacht
Exceptionally Hoppy Lager: Highland Park Timbo Pils

How about representing beers from Albuquerque? We were voted a top 10 beer city and there are no beers listed. You need to try the Pilsner from Marble Brewing and “Beer” from La Cumbre Brewing. Both are outstanding.
