Sneak Preview – San Diego Strong Ale Festival 2011
From Co-Organizer Tom Nickel: 15th Strong Ale Festival this weekend at Pizza Port Carlsbad. 75 beers all over 8% alcohol from all over the USA. Fest runs from 4-11 pm on Friday and 11 am to 11 pm on Saturday. Tickets are available at the door for $30. Don’t miss the best collection of strong ales in the Western US. We’ll have about 75 beers for the main fest. It will be insane. It won’t be the most number of beers we have ever tapped, but I certainly think that this is the best beer list we have ever put together for Strong Ale. It all really came together well for the fest’s 15th Anniversary. And we’ll have the 15th Anniversary Strong Ale Festival beer, a blend of barrel aged and strong beers from all 4 Pizza Port locations.
This is one of The Full Pint’s most favorite times of the year, the San Diego Strong Ale festival. It hasn’t been largely promoted, as its cult following sells it out each year. You still have a chance to buy tickets at the door and have a blast. For those lucky enough to have purchased VIP tickets a few weeks ago, it should be fun taking first stab at some incredible gems. For the last 5 years we’ve attended, we’ve never gotten the tap list a head of time, but we’ve always tried to provide some teasers. Here is what we’ve gathered! *indicates VIP:
