5th Anniversary & Annular Eclipse Celebration
(Truckee, CA) – The planets have aligned, or more accurately, they will on May 20, 2012. While most of North America will be left out, including local cities like San Francisco and Sacramento, Truckee lies in the path of totality for the annular eclipse coming up later this spring.
It may only be a coincidence that FiftyFifty Brewing Company™, Truckee’s local craft brewery celebrating their 5th anniversary, produces the internationally award-winning Eclipse™ Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, but they think not. So, they have decided to team up with local non-profit High Fives to host a party in honor of both occasions. A FiftyFifty beer garden, barrel-aged spirit garden, and some excellent food offerings are planned. Co-owner, Alicia Barr, says they also anticipate “cleaning out the cellar” to start making room for expansion, and offer some rare bottles for sale including previous vintages of Eclipse, BART, other barrel-aged blends, and some new products as well.
Additionally, there will be a raffle and a silent auction with proceeds benefitting the High Fives Foundation. Raffle prizes include skis, golf packages, and local gift certificates, while the silent auction will feature one of a kind vintage beer packages.
Anyone wishing to join North Tahoe in celebrating should make their way to the brewpub starting at noon on May 20th, where the party is going to be so big it will take over the parking lot! There will be live music, games for the whole family, excellent food and drink, and of course the main event: the Solar Eclipse. Tickets available at a discount in advance through FiftyFifty’s website, and entry includes a food ticket, live music, games for the family, and viewing glasses so you can see the eclipse without burning your eyes out!
