Upland Brewing Announces Tour de Upland
Born of Upland Brewing Co.’s love of beer, nature, cycling, and music is the first ever Tour de Upland! Participants begin the adventure at Brown County State Park, near Nashville, IN with a choice of four cycling routes, each of different distances (12, 24, 34, and 45 miles) and difficulty levels. Over the course of the day they can complete as many routes as they want for maximum ride of 115 miles. The last leg of the journey is a 9.5 mile ride to Camp Palawopec, where riders will find their camping gear waiting for them.
After setting up camp, participants will have full use of the camp and its facilities: 300 acres for hiking, a private lake for swimming, a ropes course, a frisbee golf course, and a sports court and field. Dinner (including vegetarian options), several styles of Upland beer, and live music are provided at no extra cost.
Upland President Doug Dayhoff notes, “We consulted the great Ascetic monk, Rashtun, who said, ‘Hills, heat and humidity are the path to righteousness.’ I’ll give it a shot, and if that doesn’t work, there is always the beer.”
We are limiting the number of participants to 80 in order to maintain the feel of a lively, but not Woodstocky, campground. We expect it to be an evening filled with great times, great memories, and even better photos for facebook fodder. (Word to the wise: What happens at Camp Upland does not
stay at Camp Upland. If you decide to attempt the ropes course in nothing but your holey underwear, fully expect pictures to go viral.)
