Portland, OR – The Hollywood Theatre is proud to be collaborating with Burnside Brewing to bring you the 1985 cinema classic BACK TO THE FUTURE. It will be showing at the brewery as part of our FREE summer outdoor screening series! A portion of all food and beverage sales will benefit the Hollywood Theatre marquee project.
Tasty beer and time travel, what else do you need to know? There’s going to be a KPSU DJ spinning tunes at 7pm and the movie screening at 10pm.
BACK TO THE FUTURE is the first movie in the Trilogy and stars the lovable Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. Christopher Lloyd plays eccentric scientist Doc Brown, the man responsible for popping a flux capacitor into a Delorean sending Marty accidentally back to 1955. He has to make sure his parents fall in love or else he’ll never be able to get back to the future! Delightful hijinks ensue and the rest is, well, history.
Aside from being one of the raddest movies ever, BACK TO THE FUTURE was critically acclaimed and picked up 4 Oscar Nominations including a win for Best Sound Effects Editing. The entire trilogy has grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide and was directed by Robert Zemeckis, known for making other American classics such as Forrest Gump and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

About Burnside Brewing Co. – Located on Burnside St in the middle of Portland’s central eastside, the Burnside Brewing Co. is decidedly in the heart of beervana. Upon entry note first the massive heart wood fir beams placed here in 1927 when the building was contracted. Care was taken to create a lively space anchored by our open kitchen layout and surrounded by our artisan built black walnut and distressed steel bar. Notice each table was created from the very same black walnut tree, felled and solar kiln dried locally. Take a seat and peruse the menu offering cured meats, charcuterie, pickling, and culinary artistry all done in-house, and designed to pair with our handcrafted beers.
