Mother Earth Brewing 5 Year Anniversary Celebration
Kinston, NC – We can’t believe it, but it’s been five years since Mother Earth Brewing opened its doors and poured our first beer! We thought it fitting to celebrate such a monumental occasion, so we’re pulling out all of the stops for our FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, happening in Kinston October 23rd-25th! How will we be celebrating, you ask? Read on for the details:
THURSDAY, OCT. 23 – BEER DINNER
To kick things off, join us on Thursday, October 23rd for a spectacular five course beer dinner with our friends at Ginger 108 Fusion Grill in Kinston! Ginger 108 is an eclectic Southern Grill that infuses flavor from two contrasting cultures, the East and West. This collision of ingredients provide Chef Khymi Harrell and her team a palate for innovative dishes that are prepared with a Southern flair while leaving a contemporary choice for global ingredients. For this special evening, Chef Harrell and her team will put together a special four course dinner paired with Mother Earth beers hand selected by Brew master Josh Brewer! Dinner starts at 6:30, and space is limited, so call Ginger 108 today to make your reservations, (252) 208-2663! $45/person.
FRIDAY, OCT. 24 – B.O.B. (BBQ, OYSTERS, BEER)
Friday night, October 24th, we’re partnering up with our friends from local institution King’s BBQ Restaurant for a party featuring B.O.B. – Barbeque, Oysters and Beer! One price gets you all the BBQ, oysters and sides you can eat, with Mother Earth beers available for purchase and live music from The Roman Sams! The party starts at 6:00!
SATURDAY, OCT. 25 – MOTHER EARTH BREWING 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Celebrate with us ALL DAY LONG on Saturday, October 25th, as Mother Earth Brewing turns FIVE YEARS OLD!
NEUSE RIVER PADDLE
Back in April, we sponsored our first ever Neuse River paddle, a scenic canoe and kayak trip down the Neuse River through Kinston to raise money for the Kinston River walk Fund. It was so much fun, we’re doing it again! On the morning of the anniversary party, brewery founders Stephen Hill and Trent Mooring will be guiding a scenic, four mile paddle through the heart of Kinston, ending just a few blocks from the brewery. We’ll provide the boats, the equipment, and beers during the paddle; all you need to bring is yourself and a great attitude! You’ll be shuttled from Mother Earth Brewing down to the launch site, and shuttled back to the brewery at the conclusion. You’ll also get to take part in a guided beer tasting at the Mother Earth Tap Room at the conclusion of the tour! The cost to participate is only $25.00, with 100% of the funds raised going to support the Kinston River walk Fund, building over two miles of nature trails along the Neuse River connecting the Kinston Nature Center with the Woodmen Community Center! The paddle will begin at 10am, and conclude around 1pm, just in time for the street festival at Mother Earth Brewing. Space is very limited and will sell out quickly, so contact the brewery today to reserve your spot by calling (252) 208-2437, or emailing [email protected]
LIVE MUSIC
When we opened five years ago, we celebrated with a fantastic set from 90s alternative rockers The Connells, in a show that people have been talking about ever since. So to celebrate this anniversary, we’re bringing The Connells back to Kinston! Formed in Raleigh, NC in 1985, The Connells have released seven full length albums, featuring hits like “74-75,” “Stone Cold Yesterday,” and “Slackjawed.” They’ve toured extensively with acts like Def Leppard and won numerous awards for their 1993 Platinum album “Ring.” We’ll be featuring an afternoon of live music on North St. in front of the brewery headlined by The Connells, with local favorites The Craig Harrison Quartet and J.P. Soars And The Red Hots also playing feature sets. Music starts at 1pm; set times to be announced!
ANNIVERSARY BEERS
We’ve released some pretty spectacular beers both as wide releases and as special “Tap Room Only” batches in the last five years, so to celebrate, we’ll be bringing back some greatest hits, as well as introducing some new special brews! Here’s just a sampling of what you can expect to see:
GREATEST HITS
Smokey Hart (smoked amber ale)
B-Street Wheat (American wheat ale, base beer for Windowpane Series: Raspberry and Peach)
Black Gold (Dry Irish Stout)
NEW RELEASES
Juniper Rye IPA
In addition to these great brews, you’ll also see some of your favorites like Silent Night, Tripel Overhead, some brews from the Windowpane Series and more! We’ll also be releasing some vintage bottles from our cellar for sale as well. Stay tuned for more information on special releases!
THE OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY
We will be open late into the evening, but after the Tap Room closes, come hang out with us across the street at our sister bar, The Red Room, for the official after party! Local favorites The Deluge will take the stage at 10pm and The Red Room will be serving up plenty of delicious Mother Earth brews, as well as wine by the glass and local craft spirits.
STAY IN KINSTON
Interested in coming down for the party, but concerned about having to drive afterwards? Stay with us in Kinston! The Hampton Inn Kinston Hotel, located just one mile away, is offering a discounted rate for folks attending the anniversary party, and Mother Earth Brewing will be offering FREE shuttle service from the hotel to the brewery and back all day long! The rate will be available for all three nights, Thursday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 25th. Just call the Hampton Inn at (252) 523-1400 and ask for a reservation using the Mother Earth rate. Rooms at this special discounted rate are limited, and are only available until September 23rd, so make your reservation today!
We couldn’t be more excited and more proud of the way Mother Earth Brewing has grown in just five short years. We want to celebrate with everyone who helped make this journey possible for us, and we hope that you’ll come and be a part of celebrating how far we’ve come in the last five years, and how far we plan to go in the next five!
