L.A. Zoo To Host First-Ever “Brew at the Zoo” Beer Festival
Since 1966, people of all ages have enjoyed creating memories at the Los Angeles Zoo while learning about animals from around the world and preservation of endangered species.
This August, Zoo guests have the opportunity to enjoy everything they love about their daytime visits, but with an added twist of “21 and up” fun. More than twenty California craft breweries join the Zoo to launch its first-ever beer festival – “Brew at the Zoo.”
This new annual event features a unique 3-hour beer tasting experience. Upon arrival, “Brew at the Zoo” guests receive a five ounce collectible sampler glass and 12 tickets to taste the night away. Participants include Bayhawk Ales, Belmont Brewing Co., Bootlegger’s Brewery, Brouwerij West, The Bruery, Cismontane Brewing Co., Eagle Rock Brewery, El Segundo Brewing Co., Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, Indian Wells Brewing Co., Inland Empire Brewing Co., Left Coast Brewing Co., Noble Ale Works, Skyscraper Brewing Co., So Cal Brewing Co., Stone Brewing Co. and Strand Brewing Co.. Also participating are Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and Karl Strauss Brewing Co. who took home multiple awards from the “Los Angeles International Beer Competition” this past June. Hard cider fans may enjoy samples from Crispin’ Cider Co. and Fox Barrel Cider.
Aside from the array of craft beer brands at hand, tantalizing pub-style foods will be available to fill guests’ cravings. “Brew at the Zoo” wouldn’t be complete without the sounds of toe-tapping music to fill the air. KROQ “Locals Only” presents five up-and-coming L.A. based rock bands performing in the Zoo throughout the evening: Heartstop, The Steelwells, The Fling, Tijuana Panther and Upstream. 93.1 JACK FM joins in for the festivities.

Beer festivals in zoos have become common throughout the nation and typically sell-out. “Brew at the Zoo” brings a new level of fun for guests twenty-one years of age and older. While attendees are enjoying their “hops-therapy,” they have the opportunity to stroll through the Zoo to gaze at animals including the newest exhibit, Elephants of Asia.
Guests can take confidence knowing their “Brew at the Zoo” ticket purchase is not only for a good time, but also a good cause. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, supporting the Zoo in its mission to nurture wildlife and enrich the human experience.
Tickets are expected to sell out to this event and should be purchased ahead of time at http://lazoo.org/brew/. General Public Presale Tickets are $40. Designated Driver Tickets are $25 and do not include a tasting glass or beer tickets with admission. All guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the event.
