Cambridge Brewing Company Barleywine Festival January 30, 2014
Happy New Year beer lovers! I hope 2014 is treating you well. It’s already gearing up to be a great year here at CBC and we hope to share it with you.
January can be a quiet month for some but as you know that’s just not how we roll around here. We like to get the year started with a BANG! (and a bit of a hangover) with our annual Barleywine Festival.
On January 30th at 5pm we’ll be tapping 15 big, bold beers to warm your winter. This year’s event will feature 13 varietals of our Blunderbuss and Arquebus barleywines (dating back all the way to 2006!) and two expressions of Bad Knees, our English-style Old Ale.
Once again Executive Chef David Drew is thrilled to accept the challenge of creating a menu that stands up to and matches the intense flavors of our American Barleywines. A weaker chef might break under the pressure but Chef David fully understands the flavor nuances of this incredibly complex beer style and he’s not afraid!
As always there is no cover charge or reservations for this event and no need to buy tickets in advance. Menus will be revealed soon so keep an eye out. Mark your calendars and I’ll be in touch. Cheers! Laura
PS- In case you didn’t know, 2014 marks CBC’s 25th year in business so you can expect this is just the first of many BIG things to come from CBC in the year ahead! (I’m thinking collaborations, special dinners, charity events and special releases.) But more on all that as the year rolls on…
