Blue Palms Brewhouse Turns 6 | Photos
Another year, another back-to-back anniversary weekend. You’d think that after #TFP7, we’d be too wiped out to make it to the Blue Palms Brewhouse anniversary which traditionally happens the following day. However, I just couldn’t miss my local watering hole’s annual shin-dig, so we set those alarms early for Sunday morning and hi-tailed our way back to Hollywood for this yearly can’t-miss affair.
We’re no strangers to this summertime jubilation featuring rare and impossible-to-find-in-California beers, and once again owner Brian Lenzo and his team executed a no-fuss fest complete with ample craft beer samplings, food, and live entertainment from none-other than resident beer-drinkin’ band, The Firkins. Lines were short to non-existent and spirits were as high despite the nearly uncomfortable summer heat. Luckily, fest-goers were able to utilize Blue Palms’ bar and the neighboring Fonda Theatre for the occasional shade and air condition break in between brews. Stand-outs for us included Avery’s painfully refreshing Lilikoi Kepolo, Russian River Brewing’s Erudition and Tempation, and Noble Ale Works’ Cinnamon Roast Crunch (Naughty Sauce with Cinnamon) while lines drew for rare tappings of Dogfish Head’s 120 Minute and Southern Tier’s oh-so-sweet Creme Brulee Stout.
There’s not much else to say other than if you missed it, we strongly suggest you mark your calendars for next year — congratulations on 6 years, Blue Palms!
