Blue Palms 4th Anniversary Recap and Photos
We at The Full Pint are no strangers to Blue Palms’ Anniversary parties and with each year, the Hollywood craft beer bar never fails to impress. This year, Blue Palms celebrated their fourth anniversary with another great beer garden; this time, utilizing space in and around The Fonda Theatre including the brewhouse. With over 60 beers on tap at the event, the atmosphere was lively and with a great crowd of loyal fans and industry colleagues.
As with every anniversary party, Blue Palms brought out special release brews for the event in a staggered release throughout the day. While it seemed that most people wanted in on these limited beers, lines were very manageable even for super popular names like Firestone Walker’s Little Opal and Southern Tier’s Creme Brulee (not available in California). Owner Brian Lenzo manned the taps for these beers himself with cigar on hand.
It wouldn’t be a Blue Palms party if something hot out of the kitchen isn’t involved. This year we saw complimentary barbecued tri-tip sandwiches that were tender and packed a touch of heat– grilled outside in the heat by their exceptional kitchen staff. Live entertainment was provided on the main stage by Space Kyle and the Newtonians and DJ Chuck. And keeping with tradition, guests were able to try their luck at dunking Blue Palms staff at the dunk tank with proceeds benefitting the Hollywood YMCA.
Overall, the anniversary party was a sucess with short lines, entertainment, and no shortage of quality craft beer. We enjoyed seeing more indoor space at this year’s event within The Fonda (especially in this weekend’s heat), and the sense of community in such a big city like Los Angeles was inspiring. On behalf of The Full Pint, Happy Anniversary Blue Palms! Cheers to many more to come.
