Big Boss Brewing – Strange Cargo – An Evening of Barrel Aged Beers April 22, 2015
(Raleigh,NC) – Big Boss Brewing is offering a unique showcase of beers for North Carolina Beer month! A one night opportunity to sample several of our Strange Cargo series, barrel aged beers in one place. Bourbon, wine, tequila and brandy barrel aged brews from the wall of oak barrels and the first offering from our foudres. A low ticket price of $15 will give you access to this event with many of these beers being final offerings at the brewery.
Since releasing our first sour ale in 2009 the popularity of the style has soared. We slowly built up our barrel inventory and secured two Italian made oak foudres. Strange Cargo represents the brand family of Big Boss wood aged beers! One of the featured beers will be Saints & Sinners: Aged in oak foeders for six months, S&S is a Flanders inspired ale that captures a refreshing fruit and oak qualities of the vessel. Brewed with corn from Yates Mill, one of the oldest working stone mills in the country (established around 1756) is right here in Raleigh.
