American Craft Beer Week 2011 – Library Ale House Santa Monica, CA
From May 16-22, Library Alehouse will join the Brewers Association and other purveyors of fine suds nationwide in declaring our Beer Independence and celebrating American Craft Beer Week! In order to do so in the proper fashion, we’ve lined up several special events for the week.
Since beer is best when fresh, we thought we’d kick off the week by featuring a local brewery. On Monday, May 16, we welcome Jeremy Raub of Eagle Rock Brewing to the Alehouse along with a few of his great local beers. We’ll have oysters on the half shell to pair with Solidarity Black Mild and we’ll also have Populist IPA and Yearling Flanders Red on tap. Take the opportunity to drink some locally-produced goodness and talk to the person who produced it! $1 oysters from Carlsbad Aquafarm while supplies last.
On Tuesday, May 17, we’ll have Firestone Walker and Taste of the Nation LA at the Alehouse to benefit Share our Strength in their fight against childhood hunger. A dollar from every purchase of Firestone Walker beer that day from 4:00pm on will benefit Share our Strength. We’ll also have pairing bites for $2 each, 100% of which will go to Share our Strength. As for the beer, get excited because we’ll have Double Jack, Solace, Velvet Merlin, Pale 31 on Cask and ABACUS!
May 18 brings more local action with Nick Brown and Brian Mercer of Brouwerij West joining us at the Alehouse along with their Belgian Blond and Belgian Triple. Not only is this a chance to meet more of your local brewers, but their beer is awesome too!
Thursday May 19 we pay respect to those who started the craft beer movement by featuring Karl Strauss. We’ll have their 22nd Anniversary Barrel-Aged Vanilla Bean Imperial Stout along with a Rye IPA brewed just for American Craft Beer Week! In addition, a representative from Karl Strauss will be there to answer any questions you may have and discuss their recent push to make more interesting and innovative beers.
On Saturday the 21st, we bring things back to the local scene with Bootlegger’s Brewing! We’re not sure what we’ll be pouring just yet, but it’ll include some rare and one-off leftovers from their recent Anniversary party, so watch our facebook page and twitter feed to find out precisely which awesome beers we’ll be pouring!
