7th Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Festival At The Rogue Brewery
Newport, OR – The world’s largest dog beer festival is coming back to the Rogue Ales Brewery in Newport, Oregon, May 17-18th. The 7th Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Festival is held in honor of Brewer, our revered Chairman and resident black lab who passed away in May 2006.
Held inside the Rogue brewery where Brewer grew up, the festival includes 50+ craft beers from breweries Laughing Dog, Lucky Labrador, Hair of the Dog, Dogfish Head, Blue Dog Mead, Sasquatch, Ninkasi, Logsden Farmhouse, Hopworks, Breakside, Falling Sky, Fort George, Rusty Truck and more. The festival also includes local seafood and arts and crafts. Live music will be provided by Ty Curtis, Alder Street Allstars, Hank Shreve, Bump Kitchen with Mark Bittler, and Blue Evolution with King Coyote and the Basement Rats.
Four-legged attendees can participate in the Dog Olympics and games like Musical Chairs, Dancing and Look-alike contests. Dirty dogs can be treated to a good scrub at the volunteer dog-wash station. Dogs and humans alike can wonder at the skills of the Newport Police Department K-9 Unit. The schedule of events is as follows:
Entry is $10 and includes four taster tickets. Dogs get in free if they bring their human with them. This event is 21+ for humans. Dogs of all ages are welcome.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit Oregon Coast Therapy Animals, Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Central Coast Humane Society, Friends of Lincoln County Animal Shelter (FOLCAS), and the Newport Police Dept. K-9 Unit.
Rogue Ales Brewery is located on the Yaquina Bay at 2320 OSU Drive in Newport, Oregon. Festival hours are Friday, 4-10pm, and Saturday, Noon-10pm.
