Renegade Brewing Will Celebrate 5 Years With a Block Party
(Denver,CO) – June 26, 2011 was a hot day in the Arts District on Santa Fe. A small crowd of craft beer enthusiasts gathered to welcome the 9th brewery to the City of Denver. Pints of 5:00 Afternoon Ale and Ryeteous (now Redacted) Rye IPA joined a few other styles along the bar. Renegade Brewing Company was open for business and the pair of entrepreneurs, Brian and Khara O’Connell, stood proudly behind their bar.
Five years does not seem like a long time, but in the life of a small business and a craft industry it is. Renegade started with a staff team of the two owners and one paid employee. Today Renegade has 20 beer-lovers on their payroll. In addition to Renegade’s staff growth, Denver has seen a tremendous growth in the craft beer community. Denver now boasts of 65 breweries in operation and many more in planning stages (according to Denver event company, Two Parts).
One thing has remained constant throughout the last years, and that is the support and enthusiasm of Renegade’s fans.Renegade has always been a place that values community. Every one of our cans totes the slogan, “Best Enjoyed in the Company of Good Friends.” Thank you for being a friend and sharing this passion with your friends. Here at Renegade, we strive to be more than a beer manufacturer. We strive to be a catalyst for relationship and community. And we have the best community to be part of.
To celebrate 5 years of business Renegade is hosting a block party. On Saturday, June 25 Renegade will shut down 9th Avenue to allow bands, beers, and food trucks to take over. The party will run from 3-10 PM with special tappings and entertainment all day. Food options include Matt’s Snack Shack, Pasty Republic, Ol’ Skool Que, Golden Tree Stir Fry, and Em’s Ice Cream. Renegade is happy to announce a fantastic line-up of local bands: Holly Lovell, Animal Electricity, Plume Varia, and headlining is Inner Oceans who will take the stage at 8:30. The party will be free to enter with all beers costing just $5. Renegade always encourages safe transportation and is located near the 10th and Osage RTD light rail, the 9th and Santa Fe B-cycle Station, and will offer ample bicycle parking.
So cheers to 5 years and many more! We hope you can join us in the celebration. As always, bring a friend or make a friend. We’ll see you soon!
