Great Lakes Brewing – Dortmunder Gold – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 5.8% abv. From Dan from PA!
Appearance: Pours an amberish yellow gold with almost no head to be found.
Aroma: Bready grainy notes and a touch of sweetness.
Taste: A nice mixture of dry malts, slightly sweet malts and some bitter Euro hops.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied.
Overall: A balanced well crafted lager. Not super exciting, but flawless.

Are you kidding? No head? Sure, it doesn’t have a 4 finger job, but it still lays a 2 finger that lasts a good bit leaving for very good lace. This lager is flawless. But I disagree with not being exciting. Do you say this because it’s available year round? The guys at GLBC have it going on with all their brews and this is more or less their flagship. Best dortmunder style available. Period.
