Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti
From Great Divide – Welcome to the newest incarnation of our revered imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.
Great Divide Brewing – Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti – On tap at 38 Degrees Alehouse, Alhambra, CA. Poured into a goblet. 9.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a dense tan head.
Aroma: Faint roast, fresh oak, faint dark chocolate.
Taste: Dark chocolate, fresh oak, vanilla, roasted barley and some spicy hops popping out in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Like all the other Yeti beers, very creamy and full bodied.
Overall: Tasty, not much different than say Oak Aged Yeti or Espresso Oak Aged Yeti, but still a wonderful beer.

I’ve got to disagree with Eric. For me, it’s Regular > Choc Oak > Esp Oak > Oak (I love hoppy stouts)
I can’t wait to figure out where the belgo fits.

This is good stuff, but I preferred Espresso. I’m wondering when their next BBA release is…
