Chimay Rouge (Red)
From Chimay – First sold in 75 cl (25.4 fl.oz.) bottles, it is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance.
Chimay – Chimay Rouge (Red) – 11.2 oz. bottle poured into a Chimay Chalice 7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a deep dark maroon with a tight cap of off white bubbles.
Aroma: A large whiff dark toast.
Taste: Bready spicy yeast, burnt toast, caramelized dark fruit and spicy hops.
Mouthfeel: Thin for the style and quite fizzy.
Overall: A super solid abbey dubbel. A world class adventure for your palate. Complex and balanced.
