The Ultimate Beer-Lover’s Holiday Gift Guide 2015

Stumped on what to get the beer-lover in your life? Tis the season of giving and we here at The Full Pint have rounded up a few cool ideas for your gift-giving needs. Whether you aim to shop for the ultimate beer geek who pretty much has everything, or a friend who merely dabbles in the beer-y arts, these presents are sure to earn you some points.

1. Insulated Cooler Bags
   Personally, nothing irks me more than transporting beer and letting it get warm. Headed to a bottle share or just a family picnic? We love the wide variety of insulated cooler bags available in the market these days. No need for those sad little lunch bags of years past. This simple black bag from World Market for example, can cram in up to 48 (12-oz) cans.
2. Beer Books
   There are a couple of books that we feel should be must-haves for the general beer lover. Three of these books includes none other than Garrett Oliver’s “The Brewmasters Table,” Randy Mosher’s “Tasting Beer,” and “The Oxford Companion to Beer,” also by Oliver. These books are great for those wanting to expand on their beer knowledge in a casual yet informative way.
3. Memberships
   It may be difficult to plan to purchase gift memberships for many of the highly sought-after beer societies (such as Upland, The Bruery, etc.), but there are other options for purchasing gift memberships for your friends including gifting a membership to the American Homebrewers Association and supporting your local Brewers Guilds (shameless plug).
4. Beer Apparel
   My closet is embarrassingly full of beer shirts; from my favorite breweries to supporting small apparel companies creating cool things. We’re particular fans of Craft Beerd, Brewer Shirts, and good ole’ fashioned Etsy.
5. Beer Jewelry
   For the ladies, there are several small companies churning out some cute accessories. We love the hair flowers at Suzie’s Beer Stuff (and also the badass wooden growler carriers by her husband Brad). There are also these cool hop earrings & rings from Brewery Ferment.
6. Homebrewing Gear
   Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY A MR. BEER KIT for anyone. Ever. Looking to support the aspiring homebrewer in your life and don’t want to get an AHA membership quite yet? A gift card to your local homebrew shop or to Northern Brewer will suffice. Everyone learns and dives into this hobby in different ways – you don’t wanna be the lame uncle who grabbed a dinky extract kit for your all-grain brewin’ nephew.
7. Beer Socks
   I know, I know. How dare we, right? At the end of the day though, these still make great stocking stuffers and are still a cozy novelty. BeerSocks.net has them in pretty much any style under the sun.
8. Glassware
   While we are personally trying to downsize our glassware collection, the beer-lover in your life may be in need. Want to get them started on upping their #proprglassware game? This Spiegelau Craft Beer Tasting Kit is pretty popular, but we prefer this Libbey Craft Brew Sampler (6-piece).
9. Bottle Openers
   People have gotten very crafty with bottle openers, which are also a great little item for a stocking stuffer. I mean…just look at this.
10. Cellar Space
    For the person who seemingly has everything (and not enough space for endless kegerators and cellar space), there are quite a few storage places geared towards storing wine (and beer). Yes, you read that right. There are storage spaces! These can be a little costly, seem a little frivolous, but the fact that there are over a dozen in our metropolitan Los Angeles area proves that there is a market for it.
11. The Most Baller Gift: Beercation
    If you want to roll with some true playas, a Beercation may just be your saving grace. The obvious destinations include Portland, San Diego, Belgium, and Germany to name a few. But we’ve got our eyes set on Asheville, Austin, and Albuquerque in 2016.
