New Belgium Brewing Addresses ‘For Sale’ Rumor

(Fort Collins,CO) – Late this week, rumors began swirling that New Belgium Brewing is shopping themselves to be sold.  As you can imagine, a craft brewery this size is a very attractive buy, and with Ballast Point’s 1B sale to Constellation Brands, you can be sure NBB’s value has just risen.  After Elysian Brewing’s sale in January, we reached out and asked if they were “next”, and they responded with a carefully worded no.

New Belgium Brewing was gracious enough to respond to this week’s rumors, and here is what they have to say:

“New Belgium Brewing’s Board of Directors has an obligation to have on-going dialogue with capital markets with the goal of making sure that we remain strong leaders in the craft brewing industry. There is no deal pending at this time”
