Modern Times Bourbon Barrel-Aged Monsters’ Park

San Diego, CA – Modern Times Beer is very excited to announce the forthcoming release of Monsters’ Park–our hulking, cantankerous, 13% ABV imperial stout–aged in bourbon barrels! This beer spent 5+ months aging in freshly dumped Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, and the results are thunderous.

In addition to the ‘classic’ edition, we also have two variants available: one featuring our house-roasted Black House Blend coffee, and one with toasted coconut & cocoa nibs. Both are immensely flavorful riffs on an already cockstaggeringly delicious base beer.

There are 600 bottles of each version available. They will go on-sale this Thursday, March 19th at 10am via Brown Paper Tickets; all bottles must be picked up at the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room during the two month pick-up window. We’ll celebrate the release on Wednesday, March 25th (the first pick-up day) with a party at the tasting room. We’ll have all three versions on-tap plus some other tasty treats, and it’ll be super happy fun times.

IN OTHER NEWS, after months of toiling, we have a new package to offer you: a mixed 20-pack! This absurdly beautiful box contains 4 cans each of our year round beers, plus 4 cans of our rotating seasonal (in this case, exceptionally fresh Booming Rollers, our Citra-centric IPA). The first run of these boxes is merely a test. If they do well, we may make more. If not, they may disappear forever.

Our mixed 20-pack will be available starting this Friday exclusively at 6 stores of a certain national big box chain that has carried our 22oz releases before (fun fact: it’s members-only except for alcohol). So while you’re stocking up on 600 rolls of toilet paper and grazing your way through the food samples, please do us a solid and grab yourself one of these sweet ass 20-packs.
