Marin Brewing Wins Gold and Silver at 2012 World Beer Cup
Marin County, CA–Marin Brewing Company was the proud recipient of 2 awards at the 2012 World Beer Cup ®, (WBC) a global beer competition presented by the Brewers Association (BA) that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers. Star Brew Wheat Wine Ale was awarded the Gold Medal in the Other Strong Beer category and 3 Flowers IPA was awarded the Silver Medal in the Rye Beer category.
World Beer Cup winners were selected by an international panel of 218 beer judges from 29 countries. The competition, held every other year and referred to as the –“Olympics of Beer”–saw an impressive field of over 4,000 entries from 828 breweries in 56 countries. Judges presented a total of 284 awards in 95 categories. The 2012 WBC was the largest global beer competition ever held, and drew the largest, most international field of entrants in the history of the competition.
