City Star Brewing Scoundrel Release June 13, 2015
(Berthoud,CO) – Scoundrel is the second installment in City Star Brewing’s barrel-aged bottle series. This sour barrel-aged brown weighs in at 6.6% ABV and has been hiding out in oak Cabernet wine barrels for one year. Intentionally soured with a blend of lactobacillus and pediococcus bacteria creating a pleasantly sour version of our 2013 Great American Beer Festival gold medal-winning Bandit Brown Ale.
Scoundrel will be released as a taproom exclusive in 22 oz. bottles for $18 a bottle (Limit: 1 case per customer.) Each of these limited edition bottles has been hand-filled, capped, dipped, waxed and sealed with the City Star stamp of approval.
“The packaging of our barrel-aged bottle series is a very laborious process,” says City Star head brewer and owner, John Way. “We went with the 22 oz. bottle because we thought it would be the perfect size to share with friends and we chose to wax dip the top of each bottle because it helps seal the cap for aging. City Star Brewing embraces the rich history of the hard working people that built this town and artisan ways of creating amazing beer, so we thought the stamp on top would be a great finishing touch.”
Catch this Scoundrel and put it in it’s place…your belly.
