Captain Lawrence Brewing Expands Distribution to Philadelphia
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) – On Wednesday, October 1, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company (444 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford, NY; 914-741-2337) will bring its ever-expanding portfolio of exceptional and award-winning craft beers to the Greater Philadelphia region. Captain Lawrence, located approximately 120 miles from downtown Philadelphia, has partnered with Muller, Inc. and will begin distributing in the city of Philadelphia this fall, as well as surrounding Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. It marks the first new market for Captain Lawrence, which had been limited to only New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. On Wednesday, October 15, the brewery will lead #ReserveParking, a coordinated toast, where participating bars and restaurants throughout the city and surrounding suburbs will raise a pint of Captain Lawrence’s critically-acclaimed Captain’s Reserve Imperial IPA in unison.
Head brewer and owner Scott Vaccaro, a proud graduate of the highly-respected Fermentation Science program at the University of California at Davis, will be tapping several styles in the coming months, beginning in October with the release of Captain’s Reserve Imperial IPA, an intensely hopped double IPA bursting with citrus and pine flavors, clocking in at 9% ABV. Then, in November, the launch will continue with the release of Smoked Porter, a complex porter with aromas of smoked wood, licorice and dark fruit, followed by the December release of Captain Lawrence IPA, a robust and flavorful beer that has been dry-hopped with Centennial, Citra and Bravo hops. More styles, including rare and exclusive barrel-aged bottles, will enter the market in early 2015.
“We are extremely excited to begin pouring in one of the most craft beer savvy and enthusiastic markets in the United States,” says Vaccaro. “We cannot wait to visit the city, grab a pint with our fans and just sit down and talk beer with anyone who will listen. This is really a monumental day for the whole Captain Lawrence team.”
“This is a big day for everyone involved, especially considering that these extraordinary beers have only been available in New York, Connecticut and parts of New Jersey before today,” says Muller Vice President of Sales John Houck. “We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Scott and everyone at Captain Lawrence.”
