Call To Action – New Jersey Craft Brewers Need Your Help For Monday
We need to continue to help our brothers and sisters from New Jersey in the fight for less restrictions on how state brewers can sell their beer. We’ve gotten word this morning from Cricket Hill Brewing as well as Barley Legal Home Brew Club that The Restaurant association is trying to run interference on this legislation being passed. The Full Pint would love for someone to contact us to explain the inside politics on this one. As a New Jersey native, I know there have been some very old school, mafia-ish regulations on alcohol in that state as long as I’ve been alive, and it’s time for a change. So even if you aren’t from NJ, help these thirsty folks out if you can.
After a lot of crazy goings on we got a great vote in the Assembly yesterday. The restaurant association is still trying to stall this thing by sowing a bunch or rumors and confusion and they had a full-court press yesterday with their lobbying firm–enough to get 13 Republicans to vote against. We need a great showing in the Senate so the governor doesn’t have any reason to revisit this–otherwise we could be back to square one.

When calling/writing, you should comment on how this bill will help small brewers continue to create jobs, improve tourism opportunities and cut needless red tape. From the consumer perspective, you should comment on how the bill will allow you to have better access to the locally made craft beers you love.
Remember, please call or email these members by Friday, June 22nd to make sure your voice is heard and your support for S-641 is registered.
Thank you for your continued support of New Jersey’s craft brewers.
