Bell’s Vs. 21st Amendment: The World Series of Beer Starts Today!
San Francisco, CA –The World Series begins tonight in San Francisco and there’s a lot at stake….beer! San Francisco’s 21st Amendment Brewery has thrown down the gauntlet to Kalamazoo-based Bell’s brewery for a challenge that contains beer and bragging rights. At stake: the winner gets cases of the loser’s beer and the loser’s staff has to wear the winner’s branded shirts for a day in the brewery.
“The excitement in our neighborhood near AT&T Park is at a fever pitch,” said 21st Amendment Brewery’s co-founder Nico Freccia. “And what better way to really get our competitive juices flowing than to battle over a couple of cases of beer from our friends at Bell’s in Michigan.”
“Nothing goes together better than baseball and beer, especially when your team (ahem, the Tigers) wins,” teased Laura Bell, marketing director for Bell’s. “Bell’s is looking forward to some friendly competition and seeing photos of 21st Amendment wearing our fine Bell’s apparel.”
“San Francisco may not be fans of their baseball team, but Michigan, and especially Bell’s, makes some amazing beers that we can’t get here so we’re really looking forward to getting those cases next week,” added co-founder and brewmaster Shaun O’Sullivan.
San Francisco’s 21st Amendment Brewery and Restaurant is located just two blocks from AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Bell’s Brewery is located in Kalamazoo, MI and their production facility is located in Comstock, MI.
