Baxter Brewing Expands Distribution to New York
(LEWISTON – AUBURN, MAINE) – Baxter Brewing Company, the acclaimed all-cans craft brewery in Lewiston, Maine that was the first of its kind in New England, is poised to take on the Big Apple and Hudson River Valley of New York. “Our most recent milestone,” said Baxter’s founder and president, Luke Livingston, “was when we completed our coverage of all of New England, just about a month ago. We are now available in all six New England states, and now we’re ready for the biggest stage of all!” Conceived just four years ago, Baxter beer was designed to be compatible with the outdoor lifestyle prevalent throughout northern New England, from the mountains and lakes to the rocky Atlantic shores, but its critically acclaimed varieties characterized by aggressive, west-coast styled recipes and lots of hops from the Pacific northwest have enabled Baxter to attract legions of loyal fans among visitors to Maine’s “vacationland”. Mainers take their craft beer seriously, with more than 47 operating breweries at last count, ranking fifth in the country, per capita. And Baxter has quickly become the third largest brewery in what is arguably the most beer-friendly state in the east. “Maine has a great craft beer culture,” said Ben Low, Baxter’s director of brewing operations. “We are privileged to take our place among industry leaders, and it’s been gratifying to find so much interest, so far afield, so quickly,” he added. “New York is the next logical destination,” Livingston said. “Time to overcome traditional rivalries, like red chowder or creamy, Patriots-Jets and Sox-Yankees. Time to let New Yorkers in on what we’ve got going in northern New England.”
Baxter currently produces three year-round varieties, three unique seasonal offerings, and a series of limited edition specialty beers, and all will be made available to retailers, restaurants and bars in New York City by Union Beer Distributors, and throughout the Hudson River Valley by by Craft Beer Guild Distributing of New York, both among the L.Knife Companies of beverage distributors throughout major portions of the country. “We are thrilled to add Baxter’s beers to our list,” said Matt Lefkowitz, sales manager for Union. “There is a growing craft beer culture in the City and we’re proud to represent some of the finest craft beers in the world.” Paul Bussiere, Assistant General Manager of Craft Beer Guild
