Avery Brewing and FREESKIER Partner Up, Brew Pow Day IPA
(Boulder, CO) — Avery Brewing Company, a pioneering craft brewery and maker of Avery White Rascal Belgian-style White Ale and Out of Bounds Stout, today announces a formal partnership with FREESKIER Magazine for the 2016/2017 season. The two independently owned, Boulder-based companies will partner together for select special events, exclusive content and collaborate on a special release beer called Pow Day IPA – an 8.1% ABV coffee IPA. The partnership will help Avery Brewing Co reach FREESKIER’s large and influential following of skiers and winter enthusiasts across the country, and highlight Avery’s love for the Colorado mountains as well as increase its national presence of popular brands, including the release of Out of Bounds Stout in cans and the special release Pow Day IPA.

To celebrate the partnership Avery Brewing and FREESKIER teamed up to create a limited release of a coffee IPA. “We pride ourselves on the genuine quality of our products and we respect that Avery mirrors that in the beer industry,” says FREESKIER Publisher Damian Quigley. “When we decided to create a beer, a partnership with our friends and neighbors at Avery made sense on many levels.”
Pow Day IPA is a big, citrusy IPA with a coffee forward aspect using cold brewed coffee blends from OZO Coffee Company in Boulder, CO. Pow Day IPA will be available in cans at select FREESKIER events and at Avery Brewing Co’s Tap Room while supplies last. The story of the beer’s creation will be featured online this winter.
The partnership will formally begin on September 8th with a kickoff party at Avery Brewing Co in Boulder, CO. The kickoff event will feature the tapping of the special release Pow Day IPA on draft and in 12oz cans. The brewery will be open to the public for celebration and live music including The Goonies, a Boulder-based 80’s rock cover band.
