We’re well into the summer of 2012 and Arcadia Brewing Company and the surrounding community is abuzz with news of expansion, growth, development, and excitement.
We are happy to announce that Arcadia Brewing Company is planning to build a brand new facility on Kalamazoo’s riverfront. We’re making a $5.4 million investment in developing a mixed-use facility that is to include a brewpub, tasting room, office area, beer production area and full parking lot.
Arcadia President and Founder, Tim Suprise, had this to say about the upcoming expansion, “Arcadia’s expansion into Kalamazoo is an important and exciting milestone, not only for our Company, but for the greater Kalamazoo and Battle Creek communities. Not only is Arcadia reinvesting in our Battle Creek operation, but locating a new production and pub facility in Downtown Kalamazoo that will bring dozens of jobs and vitality to a strategically important section of the City (River’s Edge), while reclaiming a part of the Kalamazoo River.”
In other words, Arcadia isn’t relocating; Arcadia is expanding. Maintaining our loyalty to Battle Creek and our patrons here is just as important as the expansion itself. We are continually grateful to the friends who have made Arcadia Brewing Company a success in Battle Creek, our home, and are optimistically looking forward to developing growth and a noteworthy presence in Kalamazoo.
Limited physical space in the Battle Creek location would hinder Arcadia’s potential without expansion. We are happy to say that at this time next year, our beer making capacity will be looking quite different – and in a great way! We are proud that Southwest, Michigan is our home. We’re excited to draw more craft beer lovers to this region of our great state, and most importantly, thankful that we can continue as one of Michigan’s finest craft breweries.
