The Monk’s Kettle To Offer All Ten Mikkeller Single Hop IPAs On Draft
On Wednesday, May 26th, the Monk’s Kettle will be tapping a keg of all ten single-hop IPAs brewed by the Danish brewer Mikkeller.
San Francisco, CA – At 3PM on Wednesday, May 26th, the Monk’s Kettle will tap ten kegs from the Danish brewer known as Mikkeller. Last year, Mikkeller brewed ten IPAs, each featuring a single hop varietal, and the Monk’s Kettle will be one of a very few craft beer bars in the nation to offer all ten at the same time. Tasting notes and information on each of the hop varietals will be typed up and offered to those who order any of the IPAs. The beers will be served in snifters, in 6 oz pours for $7.25. There will be no cover charge, and no minimum or maximum order. Service otherwise will be the same during the time these drafts are on the beer list.
Mikkeller began as a small operation from two home brewers in Denmark. Since 2007, the operations have been run by one of them, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, who brews at various breweries: in Denmark, and around Europe and the United States. Last year, Mikkeller began a project to highlight ten hop varietals with a Single Hop Series: Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, East Kent Golding, Nelson, Nugget, Simcoe, Tomahawk and Warrior. Limited amounts were put into kegs, with the Monk’s Kettle receiving a keg of each of them.
