ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2013) – The following are events to be held during the month of March at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens (1999 Citracado Parkway, Escondido).
Beer & Cheese – Sunday, March 17 from 12 to 2 p.m.
Stone Craft Beer Ambassador “Dr.” Bill Sysak hosts an afternoon of unexpected and delicious flavor combinations as he pairs some of the finest artisanal cheeses with beers from around the world. Pairings include: Cabecou Feuille with Liefmans Kriekbier; La Tur with Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux; Camembert Le Pommier with Orval; Bleu d’Auvergne with Stone Smoked Porter; Monte Enebro with Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme; Ballerina Gouda with Green Flash/Pizza Port Carlsbad/Stone Highway 78 Scotch Ale aged in Scotch Whisky Barrels: “Chuck/Jeff/Mitch” Blend; and Colston Bassett Stilton with J.W. Beer U: Stouts – Monday, March 25 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Join Stone’s minster of evangelism and indoctrination, Ken Wright, as he explores the world of stouts. Try this year’s classic and “Odd Beers for Odd Years” versions of Stone Imperial Russian Stout before they are released to the public, as well as other examples of this dark, roasty style. Give a Pint, Get a Pint! Blood Drive – Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stop by the San Diego Blood Bank bloodmobile in the parking lot of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and donate a pint of blood for a good cause! Donors will receive a Stone Brewing Co. pint glass to take home. Easter at the Bistro – Sunday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Families are invited to join Stone for Sunday brunch and an Easter egg hunt in the gardens. A brunch menu will be offered until 3 p.m. and made-to-order omelet station will be offered until 2 p.m. Easter egg hunts will be held throughout the morning and will be grouped by age:
9:15 and 10:15 a.m.: Ages 1 to 3
9:30 and 10:30 a.m.: Ages 4 to 6
9:45 and 10:45 a.m.: Ages 7 to 10
Meatless Mondays – Every Monday, all day
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens is dedicated to using locally grown, organic ingredients to promote sustainability, community and better health. In joining the Meatless Monday movement, the restaurant will feature a meatless menu with vegetarian dishes such as the Tempeh “Fuego Burger,” Tofu Yakisoba, Bruschetta Sandwich, Stuffed Poblano Peppers and BBQ Avocado Taco Trio. Meat dishes are available upon request.
Handpump Tuesday – Every Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. at the inside bar
Each Tuesday, the bar features a cask from one of the brewing industry’s talented craft brewers, and bartenders serve the beer to guests the old-fashioned way – using a hand-pumped beer engine.
Keep the Glass Night! – Every Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m.
Each week, the bar showcases an exceptional craft brewery and offers one of their special beers on tap. Guests may purchase the featured brewery’s signature glass, get a fill and take the glass home when done. The beer and brewery’s glassware vary each week.
Stone Brewer’s Cask – Every Thursday at 4 p.m. at the outside bar
A different Stone year-round release is enhanced when delicious, carefully thought-out ingredients are added to a cask and served each Thursday by the brewer who made it. Stop by to enjoy a one-of-a-kind beer and chat with the brewer about his or her creation. Brewers and beers vary each week.

March 28: Brewery Production Shift Supervisor Brandon Winneker’s Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale w/Dried Cherries & Cinnamon
