Sixpoint Takes Over The Taps At City Tap House For First Pop-Up Brewery Event
Philadelphia, PA – One of the city’s most popular food-and-beer destinations, City Tap House, has announced its new “Pop-Up Brewery” program, an ongoing series featuring distinctive microbreweries on draught in its private beer lounge.
The first Pop-Up Brewery will be Sixpoint Craft Ales from Brooklyn, NY who will take over 10 taps beginning at 7 pm on Friday, November 19 to Sunday, November 21.
“The Pop-Up Brewery is a great way for guests to experience some of the best craft beers around and interact with the people who create them,” says Beer Steward Andy Farrell. “For our Sixpoint Pop-Up, guests will be able to taste a variety of beers that are hard to find outside of the visiting brewery, and they’ll be able to chat with brewers and brewery representatives about what they’re enjoying.”
The Sixpoint Pop-Up will feature both standard and rare offerings, some that have never been available in Philadelphia before. Beers will include Apollo Wheat, this year’s summer seasonal ale of which only 10 kegs remain, Red Tuft ESB and Vienna Pale Ale both will be City Tap House exclusives, some other beers may include: Sehr Crisp Pilsner, Sweet Action, Righteous Ale, Bengali Tiger IPA and Brownstone. Sixpoint will outfit the room with photographs of the brewery, to give guests a better idea of the look and feel of the place.
For $10 per person, guests will receive a limited edition beer glass which can be filled twice from any of the available taps, while supplies last. For those who don’t wish to take home a glass, on Friday and Saturday of the Pop-Up, Sixpoint pints will be $5.
On Sunday, November 21 at 1 pm, Sixpoint will host a homebrewing class featuring a question-and-answer session with several Sixpoint brewers and founder Shane Welch. This class is open to the public and reservations are not required. The City Tap House Sunday Special will be all Sixpoint pints for $4.
