Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron (Silver in Specialty Category)
An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. The caramel and vanilla complexity unique to this beer comes from the exotic Paraguayan Palo Santo wood from which these tanks were crafted. Palo Santo means “holy tree” and it’s wood has been used in South American wine-making communities. This beer is a 12% abv, highly roasty, and malty brown ale aged on the Palo Santo wood. It was a huge hit at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub when first released in November of 2006, Palo went into full production at the end of 2007. At 10,000 gallons, our Palo Tank is the largest wooden brewing vessel built in America since before Prohibition (and we have two same-sized Oak tanks right next to it).
Dogfish Head Midas Touch (Bronze in Honey Category)
This recipe is the actual oldest-known fermented beverage in the world! It is an ancient Turkish recipe using the original ingredients from the 2700 year old drinking vessels discovered in the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between wine & mead; this smooth, sweet, yet dry ale will please the Chardonnay of beer drinker alike.
Great Divide Hoss (Bronze in Rye Category)
A traditional Marzen Lager brewed with Rye, this is the first year they have made this beer and it already won a medal!
Great Divide Yeti (Silver in Imperial Stout Category)
A big, bold, strong Imperial Stout. This is one of the most entered categories at the GABF, they beat out a large competition.
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere (Bronze in Session Beer Category)
Ron Jeffries is the founder/brewmaster and makes only oak-aged beers that are made using wild yeast strains. Affectionately known as the grandmaster of funk, referring to the funkiness and uniqueness of his product.
Schneider Brooklyner-Weiss (Silver in Traditionally Brewed Out of Category Beer)
A collaboration between Schneider & Sons Brewing out of Germany and Brooklyn Brewery, this is a traditionally brewed weiss beer but hopped up American Style.
Clipper City Marzhon (Bronze in Vienna Lager Category)
From the coats of Maryland, Clipper City produces Marzhon, their Marzen Lager named for the affectionate title of ‘Hon’ everyone in Maryland calls each other.
