Oregon’s Mississippi Ave. Street Fair Debuts Upgraded “Local Brew Garden”
Last year’s sold-out organic beer garden was so well received by Mississippi Street Fair craft beer aficionados that for 2010 the fair returns with an expanded focus on “local” breweries…and more beer!
July 10, 2010 / 10am to 9pm
-Presenting locally produced craft beers from seven Oregon breweries
-Located at N Mississippi & Shaver – directly across from the Main Stage
-Proceeds benefit The Boise-Eliot Elementary and Albina Youth Opportunity Schools
Sourcing regional product is a cornerstone of the fair’s commitment to sustainability – and is an important factor in choosing the beverages served at the event. Festival promoters scoured the state and neighborhood for the best these craft breweries have to offer. Selections include award winners, organically brewed beers and special seasonal offerings. Beverages on tap will be served frosty cold from a beer trailer provided by Maletis Beverage – honouring our seven regional craft breweries with the professional presentation they deserve!

Lompoc Brewery (Portland)
Proletariat Red – This Northwest Red ale is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color, big malt and plenty of hops.
Total Domination IPA – Citrus notes, floral and balanced from ingredients regionally sourced, this is a true Northwest style IPA.
Radiant Seasonal Ale – Crisp and flavorful, Radiant is a clean finishing summer offering in the Ninkasi tradition. The smooth malt character is balanced by elegant hop bitterness, the perfect compliment to a glorious festival day.
Southern Oregon Brewing (Medford)
Old Humbug – Christmas in July! Conditioned strong ale with sherry tones.
Widmer Brothers Brewing Company (Portland)
Sunburn Summer Brew
Sunburn Summer Brew is a smooth, refreshing ale – light in color, body, and bitterness, but by no means light in flavor. Sunburn delivers an abundance of flavor via the new hop called Citra with thirst quenching citrus flavor and aroma. Sunburn Summer Brew is lighter in alcohol, full in flavor with a crisp finish making this a great beer for festival afternoon.
Drifter Pale Ale
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced.
10 Barrel Brewing Company (Bend)
Summer Ale – Taste the craftsmanship in this easy drinking Golden Ale with a smooth blend of Cascade and Sterling hops and a note of honey malt to balance it out. If you are a fan of traditional domestic lagers then this is a good introduction to the world of craft beer.
Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland)
Organic Rise Up Red – This full bodied Northwest Red is mahogany smooth and hopped to the rafters with locally grown Cascade and Centennial hops.
Organic HUB Lager – (Silver Medal 2008 World Beer Cup) Our Czech style pilsner is all malt all the time! Whole flower Czech Saaz hops balance the delicate honey flavor of our organic Canadian grown pilsner malt creating a golden beer with depth of character.
Lucky Labrador Brewing Company (Portland)
Byron’s Pale Ale – This pale ale is smooth, malty and medium bodied. Cascade and Nugget hops were used in the kettle and Centennials for the dry hops, giving this pale ale a citrusy and floral hop profile. Its honey/orange color, low IBUs and moderate alcohol make this the perfect anytime of year beer.
Hellraiser ESB – A medium-bodied, amber colored ESB with refreshing bitterness with a little bite. This Extra Special Bitter has caramel undertones with a light hop aroma. Galena and Cascade hops and 2-row pale, light munich, and C-75 malts.
