New York, NY – Thursday, April 26, 2012 – Witness an historic moment in the evolution of great craft beer in New York City: Announcing the formation of the New York City Brewers Guild (NYCBG), an organization of the Empire City’s breweries dedicated to advancing the local brewing industry and thereby lessening human misery.
To acknowledge and celebrate this momentous communion, the Guild is holding a unique evening of rare and obscure beers from each of the 10 inaugural brewers (listed below). This experience of the senses will be unprecedented in its display of industry unity, creativity and flavor.
NYCBG to Lead New York Craft Beer Week:
Amidst the revelry on May 22nd, the NYCBG will merrily proclaim the transition of New York Craft Beer Week from Founder and Managing Director, Josh Schaffner, to fall under the leadership of the newly formed Guild. At the opening bash, the NYCBG will announce the new date for the 5th Annual New York Craft Beer Week, which has become a beloved citywide celebration of the breadth of craft beer from around the region and around the world.
General Admission tickets for the Opening Bash are $75, and are good for a commemorative tasting glass and unlimited samples of each brewery’s offerings. Food will be provided by Guild members Eataly Birreria and 508 GastroBrewery.
For an additional $50, one can opt to receive a discounted year-long Individual Guild Membership to the NYCBG. Regular membership after the fest will go up to $75. The Individual level of membership includes:
+ Official NYC Brewers Guild T-shirt
+ VIP access to Official NYC Brewers Guild Events
+ VIP Tours and Tastings at Guild breweries and brewpubs (VIP tours are scheduled throughout the year to allow Individual Guild Members special access and treatment at their favorite breweries throughout the city. VIP tours will be announced via e-blasts and will be available by reservation only on a first-come, first-serve basis).
Discounted $50 Individual Guild memberships will be available for on-site purchase during the event.
