LA Beer Week 2010 – Date and Events Announced
Here is the first press release from LA Beer Week. Please check back often as TheFullPint.com brings you tremendous amounts of useful info for LA Beer Week 2010.
Please join us for the 2nd Annual LA Beer Week http://www.labeerweek.com/, an 11 day celebration (October 7-17 2010) of beer culture in Los Angeles & Orange Counties and surrounding areas, featuring a mind and palate pleasing array of craft & artisan breweries, local beer establishments, beer cuisine, tastings, events, and education.
We are rightfully proud of the diversity of our local beer culture and wish to promote and celebrate it to a larger audience. LA Beer Week will provide a framework and calendar for individual establishments and breweries to promote their own events, while closing with our signature LA Beer Week Festival @ historic Union Station on Oct. 17th.
This is a unique market with a total population of over 16 million in Southern California as a whole (10.3 mil. in Los Angeles County and 3.1 mil. in Orange County alone) that is still growing, and one that is in an explosive growth phase of beer culture, with new taphouses, bars, and beer-centric establishments opening every month. In addition, with the large population base and geographic size, there is tremendous potential here for our beer culture to continue to evolve.
http://labeerweek.com provides a listing of all events on the events calendar. We will be updating this calendar continually as new events are announced.
Finally, we have again partnered with the local Spero Foundation as our non-profit partner for the LA Beer Week Beer Festival: http://www.sperofoundation.org.
Opening Day – October 7th – Naja’s Place Redondo Beach, CA
Stop by to Meet and Greet Greg Koch-Stone CEO, Co-Founder & Stone President Steve Wagner, and Stone Head Brewer Mitch Steele. Taste the most Stone Beers on Draft ever outside of the Brewery! October 7th, 8pm onwards. Check back for updates on the beer line up. We’re going deep into the archives for this years event!!!! We cannot overstate how special an event this is (as was last year’s).
Closing Festival October 17 – Union Station Los Angeles, CA
Our 2nd Annual LA Beer Week Beer Festival will take place at Historic Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, October 17th, from Noon-4pm. The Festival will feature over 70 local, regional, national, and international Craft and Artisan breweries, pouring a wide array of their beers, including some rare beers, and a special few available only for LA Beer Week. Admission is $40 with unlimited 4oz tastings. We will only be selling a set number of tickets to ensure a quality event for all involved, so persons interested in attending should buy early through our website.
The Festival will take place in the beautiful patio areas adjacent to Union Station, and inside the legendary Fred Harvey Restaurant, with its Southwestern theme, brilliant tile work, and show bar that we plan to utilize for some special presentations and educational sessions covering different aspects of beer culture during the festival.
On hand will be artisan chocolatier Mignon Chocolates, and a selection of the famous Los Angeles food trucks offering their specialties to pair with the variety of beers on hand. We are also actively looking for a local cheese maker and coffee roster to participate as well.
Union Station offers plenty of parking in its underground garage, but why drive when you can take the safe and easy route by train! Union Station is served by the Red, Blue, and Gold Lines, as well as Amtrak and Metrolink. We strongly encourage attendees to take the train or other local public transportation…its safe, easy, and responsible.
