Karl Strauss Kicks Off 3rd San Diego Beer Week With B.Y.O.B.
San Diego, CA – Karl Strauss Brewing Company is jumpstarting San Diego Beer Week bright and early with a “Brew Your Own Beer” Brunch. The event takes place at 9am, Friday November 4, 2011 at San Diego’s first craft brewery-Karl Strauss Downtown. Guests will take a private tour led by CEO and Co-Founder Chris Cramer and Brewmaster Paul Segura before diving into a beer-inspired brunch menu created by Executive Chef Gunther Emathinger.
When guests purchase tickets to the event, they will get to vote for one of five beer recipes for a live brewing session on the morning of the brunch. Options include a Peanut Butter Cup Porter, “The Green” Tropical Pale Ale, Raspberry Ale, “Big Pimpin” Pumpkin Pie Ale, and “Monstruo de los Granos”-a little bit of everything ale. The winning beer will be announced online the day of the event and each guest will be given a ticket to come back at the end of Beer Week to taste the finished beer.
This event is limited to 40 guests and will sell-out early. Visit www.karlstrauss.com to see the brunch menu and beer pairings as well as a detailed description of each beer up for vote.

About Karl Strauss Brewing Company
Karl Strauss Brewing Company is celebrating 22 years of brewing in San Diego. From humble roots, a big vision, and the desire to share handcrafted beer with America’s Finest, Karl Strauss has grown from one brewery restaurant to a local institution-brewing 34,000 barrels in 2010 and operating six successful brewery restaurants across Southern California. The company has not strayed from its pioneering roots with new releases like Big Barrel IIPA and Whistler Imperial Pils, while still capturing hearts and the 2010 WBC and GABF gold medals for long-time favorites like Red Trolley Ale. With distribution solely in California, Karl Strauss is ranked #44 on the list of the country’s top craft breweries.
