Iron Hill Maple Shade Celebrates Two Years With Anniversary Beer & Brewmaster’s Dinner
Maple Shade, NJ – Since opening in July of 2009, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has become one of New Jersey’s most popular spots for great food and fresh, house-made beer. To celebrate the restaurant’s two year mark, Head Brewer Chris LaPierre will host an anniversary party on Saturday, July 16 and also a summer inspired Brewmaster’s Dinner on Wednesday, July 27.
“We’re thrilled to call Maple Shade our home, and we can’t wait to welcome our friends, old and new, throughout the month,” says LaPierre.
On Saturday, July 16, from 12 noon to 5 p.m., LaPierre and his team will be pouring two special beers – Second Rising and Christmas in July. Second Rising, Maple Shade’s official second anniversary beer, is a double IPA that has been single-hopped with Sorachi Ace hops, and will be available for $7 for 16 oz. Christmas in July is Iron Hill’s famed Winter Warmer, aged in a used bourbon barrel for four months. It is a strong, dark ale finished with classic winter spices, and will be available for $6.50 for 16 oz.
The celebration will continue on Wednesday, July 27 beginning at 7 p.m. when Maple Shade Executive Chef Michelle Wilson joins LaPierre for a summer food and beer pairing dinner. The cost will be $65 a person, including tax and gratuity. The seasonal menu will include: Yuzu-Butter Grilled Oysters with wasabi bread crumbs, paired with Belgian Witbier, a pale, unfiltered Belgian-style wheat beer; Seafood Salad with fried green tomatoes, peppadew peppers and pink peppercorn oil, paired with Saizanne, a Belgian-style farmhouse ale finished with pink and green peppercorns; Mojo Lobster Roll with chile spiced gaufrette potatoes, paired with Kryptonite, an American style IPA loaded with malt flavor; Chicken Fried Steak and Grilled Shrimp with bacon braised collard greens and white corn gravy, paired with Anvil Ale, medium-bodied and copper-colored English-style best bitter; and for dessert, Vanilla and Wild Berry Crepes with sauterne whipped cream, paired with Cherry Porter, award-winning Pig Iron Porter aged with whole vanilla beans and finished with concentrated Michigan Sour Cherry juice.
Since opening, South Jersey magazine has awarded Iron Hill Maple Shade two “Best of the Best Awards” for Best Bar 2009 and Best Midnight Snack 2010. Visitors of OpenTable.com gave Iron Hill Diner’s Choice Awards for top ten Kid-Friendly restaurant and Vibrant Bar Scene.
Happy Hour in Maple Shade is held Thursdays and Fridays from 5 until 7 p.m. and features $3 house beers and $4 seasonal drinks throughout the bar and cocktail areas. Pizza lovers can order the daily to-go special of two pizzas and a growler of house beer for just $25 until 10 p.m.
