Iron Hill Brewing’s Annual Belgium Comes To West Chester Event
West Chester, PA – On Saturday, January 28, beginning at 1 p.m., brewers Larry Horwitz and Michael Rutkowski will bring together the East Coast’s finest craft brewers at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant for the annual Belgium Comes to West Chester event celebrating Belgian beers. Guests will meet the brewers and discover new Belgian styles on a pay-as-you-go basis; 12 oz. beers and samplers will be offered from more than 20 participating breweries.
“This is a great event that brings together many top breweries to celebrate Belgian-style beers,” says Rutkowski, who will be joined by fellow Iron Hill brewers in bringing their finest Belgian-style beers to the event. Iron Hill selections will include:
- Lancaster: Brett Dubbel, with notes of bright fruit, funk and subtle raisin and roast;
- Maple Shade: Quadfather, a complex beer that is rich, dark and malty;
- Media: Brett American Brown Ale, American Brown Ale fermented with 100% Brett;
- Newark: FE 15 Anniversary Ale, a full-bodied American Imperial Tripel, brewed for Iron Hill’s 15th Anniversary;
- North Wales: Cherry Dubbel, 2008 Silver Great American Beer Festival winner in the Wood and Barrel Aged Sour Beers category;
- West Chester:
o Barrel-Fermented Witbier, Brett Buxx and Brett Drie;
o Bourbon Vanilla Tripel, an Abbey Tripel aged in bourbon barrels;
o Barrel-Fermented Saison, a Saison beer re-fermented in a Chardonnay barrel with Brett;
- Wilmington: Blackberry Saison, a Belgian-style Saison aged with blackberries in a lambic barrel.
Other guest beers and breweries will include: Brett Fermented Eight-Point IPA from Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company; Raison D’Etre from Dogfish Head; Biere Sucree from Earth Bread & Brewery; Exit 4 Hoppy Tripel from Flying Fish; Rodney’s Solera from Harpoon; Wholly Trinity Tripel from Inn at Turkey Hill; St. Alpha Belgian IPA from Manayunk Brewing Company; Blue Sunday from New Holland Brewing; O-Tay from Nodding Head; Ommegeddon from Brewery Ommegang; Saison de Chief from The Peekskill Brewery; Wild Walt Wit from Philadelphia Brewing Company; Saison Brune from Sly Fox Brewing Company; Grand Cru from Southampton Public House; Cosmic Monster from Springhouse Brewing Company; Stumblin’ Monk from Stewart’s Brewing Company; Dubbel from Stoudt’s Brewing Company; Unnamed Belgian from Troegs; Golden Monkey from Victory Brewing Company; Verboten from Weyerbacher; and Yardbird from Yards Brewing Company. All beers will range from $6.50 per 12 oz.
