HopHead Heaven At Library Alehouse
“Local Bitterness” Kicks Off 11 Days of Hops
Santa Monica, CA – It’s February. Love is in the air. And so is bitterness. And at Library Alehouse we love bitterness so much that we built an entire 11-day fest around it. HopHead Heaven kicks off on Wednesday, February 15th with “Local Bitterness”, a celebration of all things hoppy from Los Angeles, Orange County and other nearby places. We’ll have a bunch of brewery representatives and brewers in house for the event and we expect to pour the following beers:
- Eagle Rock Populist
- Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich
- Bootlegger’s Eliminator
- Bootlegger’s IPA (not yet named)
- El Segundo White Dog
- El Segundo Blue House Citra Pale
- Smog City IPA
- Ladyface IPA
- Ladyface Chesebro Dry-Hopped with El Dorado on Cask
- Golden Road Either Side of the Hill
- Golden Road Point the Way IPA
- Beachwood Thrill Seeker
- Strand 24th St. Pale
- Cismontane (TBD)
- Hangar 24 Double IPA
We’ll also have a menu of special bites to pair, with flavors robust enough to stand up to the evening’s hop barrage:
- Street Tacos – Carnitas, Pollo and Asada with Red and Green Sauces
- Shrimp Fajita Torta
- Sriracha Honey Wings (with a nod to The Sriracha Cookbook by Randy Clemens)
- Habanero Shrimp Ceviche
Also of interest during HopHead Heaven is Pizza Port Night on February 21st. Join us for an evening of to be determined hoppiness from Southern California’s highly decorated chain of brewpubs.
And don’t forget about the Pliny Fights Cancer Charity Raffle that we’re holding in cooperation with Beachwood BBQ and Brewing. Come to the Alehouse between February 3rd and February 18th and purchase as many raffle tickets as you like for $5 each, cash only. Proceeds from the raffle will go to The Melanoma Research Foundation in Memory of Tony Carbone. Raffle winners will be guaranteed the right to purchase one of fifty glasses of Pliny the Younger at the Alehouse from February 21st through March 1st for every winning ticket they hold (for a mere 25 cents each). Winners will be drawn on February 20th and notified by email. The only limit on how many times you can win is the amount of beer we have, so buying more tickets increases your chances and your donation to a worthy cause.
That’s right. Pliny without the fuss.
