Great American Beer Festival – Falling Rock Taphouse
If you’re working on Great American Beer Festival stories or looking for cool entertainment while attending the fest, here’s some fresh info for you.
On Oct 10, 9 PM at Falling Rock Taphouse, 1919 Blake Street, in Denver, Marty Jones & the Brewbadours will be the host band for the Rock’s GABF kickoff party. Me and my boys will play much beer-blessed music written by me and other (more talented) songwriters. I’m attaching a shot of yours truly, taken at Falling Rock. (Yes, this is shameless self-promotion.)
We’ll be joined by the mighty Rolling Boil Blues Band, the legendary group of beer-industry musicians led by Tom Dalldorf, publisher of Celebrator Beer News. Rolling Boil will play a set of its beer-minded rock parodies. “Rock This Town” will become “Hop This Town,” Clapton’s “Hand Jive” will become “Homebrew,” a tribute to Charlie Papazian. Much fun will be had.
I’m attaching a pic of the group. That’s John Harris (Full Sail’s head brewer) on the washboard, Tom on guitar, me on harmonica, and John Burkett (Odom Corporation) on skins.
One more thing: we’ve launched a new Downlow’d Music Club on our Oskarblues Web site. At the site, folks can download free music from the bands we know, love and support at Oskar Blues. It’s our latest way to bring new fans and attention to these bands, and hip our beer fiends to great small-batch music.
Go to www.oskarblues.com, hit the Downlow’d icon and check out the music.
