Expansion Night at Toronado San Diego with Societe Brewing Tap Take Over
(San Diego, CA) Party tonight at Toronado San Diego! Why? To celebrate Grand opening of the expansion of Toronado. Who’s going to be there you ask? Well, Societe Brewing with their tap take over and special appearance of The Highbinder- American Wild Ale plus 14 other Societe beers. Cheers!
Come out tonight!
And help us celebrate our new space with some great beer.
We got the usual Monday email from the guys at Societe Brewing offering us beer the other day, and their was an unusually large number of different beers available. We had been tentatively looking to “officially” open the new space that we just finished (well, Toronado-finished, anyway) this week and thought we should have a little Societe party to celebrate. So we ordered one of everything. Well, that’s not true; we ordered more than one keg of a couple of beers… So without further ado, here’s what we’ll have on draft today:
The Harlot- Belgian Extra Ale 6%
The Debutante- Belgian Dark Ale 7%
The Madam- Belgian Strong Golden Ale 8%
The Widow- Belgian Dark Strong Ale 9%
The Publican- Hoppy pale Ale 5.5%
The Bachelor with Simcoe- Single-hop Ale 6.5%
The Jackaroo- Southern Hemisphere IPA
The Dandy- IPA 6.6%
The Pupil- IPA 7.5%
The Apprentice- IPA 7.5%
The Scrapper- Dark Hoppy Ale 7.7%
The Haberdasher- English IPA 5.4%
The Highbinder- American Wild Ale 6% (5 gal keg; to be tapped at 7pm sharp)
The Pugilist- Dry Stout 4.8%
The Butcher- Imperial Stout 9.8%
Getting thirsty just writing that. Oh, and the Simcoe-hopped Bachelor is ridiculously good. Just sayin’… We jumped on a bunch of that. Some of the guys & gals from the brewery will be on hand to help us knock a couple back, so don’t be shy, come out tonight and have some fun. And this weekend promises more of the same, with the 51st Annual North Park Toyland Parade and Festival on University this Saturday and the SONO Chili Cookoff Sunday at the corner of 32nd & Thorn. The parade is always a good time and the chili cookoff is too… proceeds benefit McKinley Elementary School here in North Park and all of your favorite local restaurants and breweries will be there. We’ll open early Saturday morning so you can have a beer and a bite to eat before you grab a spot to watch the parade. Click on the links below for info on these cool events. And keep your eyes open for some great beer around here, including staff faves Blind Pig IPA & Supplication from Russian River, the return of the New Belgium/ Alpine collaborative Super IPA, and also look for the Christmas beers that will be starting to pop up on our taps in the next few days, starting with the perilously drinkable Celebration Ale from Sierra Nevada and some of your favorites from Belgium and others from closer to home. That’s all for now, thanks for being on this list and for supporting us here at the Toronado, and we’ll see you for a beer tonight.
