XPN Welcomes Dock Street Philly Beer Run & Free Music Fest – Sunday, June 10th 2012
Run off the beer soaked days of Philly Beer Week at Dock Street Philly Beer Run & Music Fest! On Sunday, June 10th starting at 2pm, Dock Street Brewery is your host for a 5K official timed run through University City ending with the annual free Music Fest. It’s a celebration of Philly Beer Week, sublime music, the art of running, great food and how all of that is enhanced with delicious craft beer. The run is organized in partnership with Bryan Kolesar of The Brew Lounge.
What to expect…
THE RUN. The run kicks off at 2pm from Dock Street Brewery, loops through University City and ends with Dock Street’s Annual Free Music Fest. Run participants receive beer, pizza, fruit, snacks, refreshments from Vita Coco, keepsake pint glass, chip timing and compete for beer prizes. Dock Street Flemish Red Sour Ale may or may not be among the prizes! First 50 registered runners receive a free tee shirt. Philadelphia Runner is the Official Equipment Headquarters and host for the Packet Pickup on Saturday June 9th from 11am- 2pm. Race day packet pickup begins at 12pm at Dock Street. A portion of the proceeds from the run benefit the Cedar Park Neighbors Scholarship Fundraiser.
THE MUSIC. Dock Street Free Music Fest refreshes and excites the mind. Representing West Philadelphia but invigorating anyone who gives a listen, root-rockers Hoots and Hellmouth headline the show. O’Death delivers a ‘suplex’ in the form of folk-punk-goth-Americana. Let yourself be entertained by the captivating punk-theatrics of The Extraordinaires and the Streetwalkers’ northern dream pop. First band on at 2pm.
THE BEERS. Dock Street’s mouth-watering lineup includes Philly Beer Week exclusive Pimp My Rye, the summer release of our Beer Four All Seasons collaboration, Royal Bohemian Pilsner, and Johnny Berliner: a collaboration with Johnny Brenda’s. Dock Street favorites Summer Session and Rye IPA on tap as well!
THE GRUB. Dock Street is firing up fresh pies from the wood-fired oven and selling by the slice. Americana, Pepperoni, Vegetarian and Vegan are among the delicious options on the menu. Buttercream Cupcake Lady is providing the sweets for a mid-festival sugar rush.
