Celebrate American Craft Beer Week With Epic Brewing
Salt Lake City, UT – American Craft Beer Week is coming and Epic Brewing Company will be hosting a series of events to celebrate Utah’s growing obsession with craft beer. With four events spread out over seven days, from Salt Lake City to Ogden, craft beer lovers will have every opportunity to meet and greet Epic’s award winning brewers and taste some delicious beer. The week, which runs May 14-21, is a nationwide endeavor by the Brewer’s Association to promote small breweries in their home towns. Epic Brewing Company, a three time medalist at the Great American Beer Festival, has put special emphasis on this year to celebrate its two year anniversary as the first and only boutique craft brewery in Utah to brew exclusively strong beer (beer over 3.2% abw) since prohibition. “There’s no doubt about it – nationally, appreciation for craft brewing has reached new heights of popularity,” said Julia Herz, a spokesperson for the Brewer’s Association. “With celebrations in all 50 states, American Craft Beer Week has truly earned the title ‘Mother of All Beer Weeks.’” (For more information on The Brewer’s Association, please visit www.craftbeer.com) Dave Cole and Peter Erickson, the co-founders of Epic Brewing Company, have seen the brewery go from producing a few thousand barrels a year ago to an estimated 10,000 barrels in 2012, Cole says, “It’s incredible. The support that we have received from Utahns is what makes Epic truly special. After two years, fourteen medals and with distribution in 12 states and DC, we look forward to celebrating with the people who got us where we are; our friends here at home.” During the “Mother of all beer weeks,” Epic will be attending events at Utah’s premier craft beer bars: The Bayou and Beerhive Pub as well as Salt Lake Magazine’s Best Restaurant in Northern Utah, Slackwater Pub and Pizzeria. For the final event of the week, Epic’s inviting everybody out to brewery for a summer cook- out. There will be something for everyone – grilled hamburgers and veggie burgers will both be available along with the re-release of Epic’s Hop Syndrome Lager. In addition to the beer and food, we’ll have a drawing for some pretty Epic prizes – no purchase necessary. To recap the week’s events:
