Bristol Brewing’s Venetucci Pumpkin Ale Release Info
At this very moment, as you sit quietly at your desk, maturely containing your enthusiasm for Monday morning and adulthood, a 1st Grade class is happily wiggling and bouncing on the worn vinyl benches of a yellow school bus rumbling southward along Highway 87 toward Venetucci Farm. The 1st graders, we imagine, are probably not as good as you at self-restraint. After all, instead of emails and TPS reports to look forward to, they’ll soon be digging in the worm pile, making compost and meeting the pigs and chickens. And at the end of the trip, their efforts will be rewarded handsomely with a free pumpkin. It’s the modern day iteration of Nick Venetucci’s legacy.
In his day, Nick gave away maybe 50,000 pumpkins (on a single day!) every year for nearly 50 years to school kids who would pile out of armadas of school busses, pick a pumpkin, pile back on, and go home. These days, the passionate folks at Pikes Peak Community Foundation, along with the tireless dedication and expert knowledge of Susan and Patrick who run the farm, are preserving Nick’s generosity and have added the fun and interactive education programs that are teaching kids that food comes from the earth, not a can or a cardboard box.
We love Nick’s story and we love the work the farm is doing now. We’d like to help them expand their outreach, which is why we brew the Venetucci Pumpkin Ale, made with sweet, roasted Baby Pam pumpkins grown right there in harmony with the environment, and why we give back 100% of its profits. This is good for you, because after the TPS reports are done, you get to drink the velvety, rich and slightly spicy Venetucci Pumpkin Ale and feel good about supporting local agriculture.
Venetucci Pumpkin Ale will be tapped up at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, October 26th, but there are important changes in the way we’re doing things this year, so pay attention. In the interest of fun and fairness, we will offer presales of the bomber bottles starting today at 1 pm. You must order in person and pay at the time you sign up, limit 6 bottles per person. Presold bottles will be available for pick up any time after noon on the 26th, but we’ll guard them carefully for you up till December 31st if you prefer to come later and avoid the rush. Also this year, we will be selling pre-filled, new jugs only — no refills, please! This will help you get through the line much faster. We’ve compiled an FAQ here, if you need more information.
Cheers,
Laura
