Blues & Brews Heads To Akron’s Lock 3 Park
Don’t miss Blues & Brews, one of northeast Ohio’s largest craft beer festivals, at its new home at Akron’s Lock 3 Park on August 6th!
Akron, Ohio – Blues & Brews, one of Northeast Ohio’s largest craft beer festivals, announced that they have moved the 7 annual celebration to downtown Akron’s Lock 3 Park on Saturday, August 6. Formerly held on the grounds of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Blues & Brews has this year expanded to more than 75 craft brewers and 200 styles of beer including 30 breweries from Ohio, the most popular national and international brewers, and a showcase of retro beer styles.
Live blues music is provided by the Frankie Starr Band and a silent auction featuring the latest in brewery swag is open to patron bidding the entire day. Both Mayfield and Lucky Penny Creameries will be sampling their cheeses that pair well with craft beer. Lunch offerings grilled onsite by Winking Lizard Tavern are available for a separate fee.
General admission is from 2-6 p.m. is $35/advance ($40 at the door) and includes a commemorative 3 oz. tasting glass and 25 tasting tickets.
For those who want to spend more time tasting and getting to know the beer makers, “Brewer’s Circle” tickets are $55/advance ($60 at the door, if available) and include early admission from 12-2 p.m., lunch, the opportunity to taste 21 limited edition beers, and all general admission perks including admission from 2-6 p.m., a commemorative 3 oz. tasting glass and 25 tasting tickets.
Designated Driver tickets are also available for $10 (both advance and at the door) and include lunch. Designated drivers are permitted admittance at either 12 or 2 p.m. when they accompany valid ticket holders.
Proceeds from Blues & Brews benefit Akron’s Guns and Hoses and the Ohio Craft Brewers Association, with additional support provided to other Akron-area charities including Child Guidance & Family Solutions, One of a Kind Pets and the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
