American Craft Beer Week 2011 – Oskar Blues Heads to Dallas
OSKAR BLUES HEADBREWER & SALES LEADER MAKE BEER SOAKED VISIT TO DALLAS
America’s #1 Craft Beer In A Can Honors Texas During American Craft Beer Week with Visit May 17-19
DALLAS… For the first time in its six year history, American Craft Beer Week, May 16-22, will see official events hosted in all 50 states, making it the largest-ever celebration of U.S. craft brewers. Dallas is a hot spot on Oskar Blues Brewery’s radar as headbrewer, Dave Chichura and sales leader, Nick Lensing will be making a run of events May 17th through the 19th in the Dallas area.
New beer lovers and seasoned enthusiasts will raise glasses of their favorite IPA, amber, stout—or anything in-between—to honor the more than 1,700 small and independent craft brewers responsible for the vibrant American craft beer scene. Oskar Blues happens to be the trailblazer of the canned craft beer revolution.
The Oskar Blues crew, which brews America’s #1 craft beer in a can, Dale’s Pale Ale, will be hosting a “meet the brewer” and “keep the pint night” at the Common Table on Tuesday, May 17th. This is the first time Oskar Blues head brewer will make the trip for intimate beer soaked events. www.thecommontable.com
Chichura and Lensing will also share brews and swap stories at The Ginger Man (www.dallas.gingermanpub.com ) on Wednesday, May 18 in Dallas for another “Meet the Brewer” evening, host a sampling and tasting of the Oskar Blues boundary busting line-up at The Flying Saucer (www.beerknurd.com/stores/addison ) in Addison, Texas on May 19 before finishing up with “meet the brewer” and “keep the pint” night at Vickery Park (www.vickeryparkbar.com ), at 7pm in Plano.
Set in the heart of Colorado craft beer country, Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons began canning its beers in November of 2002 with a hand-canning line in the 60- year-old barn next door to their funky little brewpub. Although it’s now a full-throttle canning operation that is quickly expanding its cult-like following across the nation, Oskar Blues remains true to its original mission of simply blowing minds with what can come out of a can of beer.
The year 2010 was an explosive growth year for Oskar Blues. The brewery is #36 Craft Brewing Company and the #49 Top Brewing Company in the country, according to the Brewer’s Association’s annual list based on 2010 beer sales volume.
