We are honored to present to you a night with Alesmith Brewing, undoubtedly one of the finest brewers in the world, and a brewery that we can very proudly call our own. This is the quintisential world class San Diego brewer and arguably our greatest. They have helped to put San Diego on the map and we can thank them for being a pioneer and helping to proliferate this crazy craft beer boom we have been seeing. We will be presenting a 5 course prix fixe to showcase our delicious gourmet comfort food, and their amazing suds. Grand Mater Judge and Head Brewer Peter Zien as well as Senior Brewer Bill Batten will be on hand to talk you through the beer pairings and to share some great Alesmith beers with you.
1st course – Beer Fondue
Cheddar, emmenthal, brie w/ Alesmith ESB fondue
Served with bratwurst, foccacia, and apples
paired with ESB
2nd course – Grapefruit Salad w/ Jicama
Red cabbage with grapefruit, jicama, candied walnuts, mint and cilantro
Served with a jalapeno Alesmith IPA vinaigrette
paired with IPA
3rd course – Slow Poached Honey Prawns w/ Cous Cous
Prawns slowly poached in honey, jalapeno, and cilantro
Served atop a bacon lardon Israeli cous cous
paired with Horny Devil
4th course – Braised Brisket Carbonnade ala Flamande
Brisket slow braised in Alesmith Grand Cru
Served with creamy roasted garlic mashed potatoes
paired with Grand Cru
5th course – Chocolate Espresso Lava Cake w/ Candied Bacon
Warm lava cake w/ candied bacon pieces
Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
paired with Double Coffee Speedway from Cask
