4th Annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival in North Carolina
Charlotte, NC – The Fourth Annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival, hosted by The Trigger Agency, is returning to Charlotte on Saturday, May 8 2010 at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall. An exclusive VIP only tasting will begin at 12:00 pm and last until 2:00 pm. General admission will follow from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
PIGS, PIGS, & MORE PIGS. This year’s event will be more focused on the devine swine than ever before. There will be lots of great barbecue for guests to sample and enjoy, including: Mac’s Speed Shop, Big Al’s BBQ, Big Mama’s BBQ, Two Brothers Cooking, Oak City Smoke, and Rock Store Barbecue.
The mix of flavors will feature NC-style barbecue and many other regional favorites, including: pork, ribs, chicken, and even BBQ shrimp. Jim Early, The Founder of The North Carolina BBQ Society, will be on-hand for the Pig Parade and Processional through Symphony Park At 3:45pm. Guests can join in the fun as the honorable Reverend Flash pays his deepest respects to the four-legged NC culinary staple. People that would rather bet on pigs than eat them can enjoy Pig Racing all day at the Festival.
A souvenir glass is included with ticket purchase and offers guests unlimited tasting of the best beers and finest bourbons. With over 60 beers, 40 bourbons and plenty of barbeque, everyone is sure to find something they love. While enjoying the event, guests can enjoy the Annual Biggest Beer Belly Competition with a grand prize of $300. They can meet the South’s greatest radio personalities John Boy and Billy from The Big Show or take in one of the many seminars in the Tasting Theater including the Whisky Professor, Bernie Lubbers and Woodford Reserve Specialist Eamonn OMahoney.
The Main Stage will host live music all day: Bluegrass from Drymill Road Band; Doug Pritchett and Mike Mahoney from the national touring jam band New Potato Caboose with special guest Brent Moore will play classics and Charlotte’s favorite sons, The Part Time Blues Band will end the day with Southern rock.
Others can enjoy viewing the great displays or shopping the 30-plus craft and spice vendors. Exhibits also include motorcycles, grilling equipment and a cigar tent for cigar aficionados.
General admission to the festival is $30.00 in advance or $35.00 on-site and includes admission into the event and a souvenir glass. VIP admission is $45.00 (available in advance only). Designated driver admission is also available for $20.00 and includes admission to the event. Kids 12 and under are free.
